Congrats to Aaron Garle for making the Worlds!

"Aaron "Bones" Garle here from the Land Down Under.
Just thought you might like to put this photo. After many years of flying IMAC, I have decided to give F3A a go to help with my flying skills. My second competition I entered this year was the Australian Pattern Masters where I placed 3rd in the Masters Category. I also recieved a position on the Australian F3A Team for this years World Championships in South Africa that I have accepted. The plane that I was flying was a friends 2m Vanquish that I had only had 4 flights on before the competition started. The gear that was used: - F3A Silver Bullet motor - 5000mah 10S battery - Mejlik 21x13E prop - Futaba Servos Thumbs up for making a great Pattern aircraft "

Extreme Flight RC Summer/Fall 2012 Newsletter

Greetings fellow RC aerobatics enthusiasts! I hope you all are enjoying a great flying season. As I'm writing this Summer is winding down and the first hints of cooler Fall temperatures are in the air. 2012 has been a very exciting year so far and I'm going to touch on some of the highlights, but first some long awaited new product release news!

We are happy to announce the arrival of the highly anticipated 64 inch MXS-EXP! This latest addition to our EXP series is a real hotrod and is sure to put a smile on any hardcore 3Der's face. Please follow the link to the official webpage for all the details. We currently have stock of the yellow/black version. The green/black version will be included on our next container, due to arrive in 4-5 weeks.

Just in time for the release of the new MXS-EXP is the arrival of the brand new Torque Revolution 4016T/500 MKII brushless outrunner. This unit replaces the older version and has been updated with thinner high quality stator material, improved magnet retention system, internal rotors to improve cooling, the ability to turn 16 inch props on 6S and MORE POWER! This unit will now ship with all combos for the 60-64 inch aircraft. Please note:
The MKII version is 6mm longer than the previous version. If retrofitting this motor in place of the prior version it is recommended that you plug the holes in the cowl mounting tabs with toothpicks and re-mount the cowl for the best spinner-to-cowl fit.

Also in stock is the recently released 48 inch Laser EXP. I'm a huge fan of the late Leo Loudenslager and his Laser 200 and always knew that at some point Extreme Flight would have to produce a Laser. We've taken the Laser and put a few modern twists on it to bring it up to the performance level that all of us expect from an EXP series aircraft. The results have been fantastic and the Laser EXP is quickly becoming a best seller! Please follow the link to the official webpage for more details.

Quite possibly the most anticipated release in our 10 year history, the 104" Extra 300 has finally been released! This amazing airframe has already made quite a name for itself with 6 out of 20 pilots flying it at the 2012 XFC! Our first shipment sold out in 3 days, but we have lots more coming soon. Please follow the link to learn all the details and be sure to sign up for our "back in stock" notification email to be among the first notified when the next shipment arrives. We expect the next container within the next 4-5 weeks.

Melissa and I had the pleasure of hosting Daniel and Michael Holman in our home this Summer. They arrived just before our departure to the Joe Nall Fly-in and stayed with us through the XFC. Not only are these young men two of the best RC pilots in the world, they are kind, courteous and outgoing and certainly an asset to Team Extreme and the modeling community at large. The boys practiced daily and tweaked their brand new 104 inch Extras to perfection. Their freestyle routines were among the best I've ever seen and they seem to improve their skills with each flight.

Speaking of the 2012 XFC, Team Extreme made quite the impact on this event. As mentioned earlier we had 6 of the brand new 104 inch Extra 300s in the competition. Team Extreme Pilots Daniel Holman (3rd place), RJ Gritter (4th place), Jase Dussia (5th place.. and 12 years old!!!), Devin McGrath (8th place) and Michael Holman (13th place) all flew extremely well and competed with skill, grace and exhibited excellent sportsmanship under truly grueling competition conditions. I am so proud of all of them! Team Aeroworks pilot Chris Gini flew my personal 104" Extra in the competition after a spectator accidentally fell on his model rendering it unflyable. Chris finished a respectable 15th place.

Finally, I want to extend a heartfelt thanks on behalf of Melissa, Curtis and myself to all of you for your business and continued support. We remain committed to bringing you the best in RC Aerobatic airframes, accessories and service. Stay tuned for more exciting new product releases in the near future!

See ya at the flying field!

Spring/Summer 2011 news

At long last flying season is upon us! We here at Extreme Flight RC have been traveling since February when we started our show season with our yearly trek to the Gateway RC Club in Jacksonville, FL for FX3D, a great event to benefit the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund. We were blessed with great weather which resulted in a large attendance and a large amount of money being raised via the raffle for the charity. This is a great event to attend for a very worthy cause and I highly recommend adding it to your calendar.

We've just returned from a wonderful week at SEFF, the largest electric only event in the U.S. We had the opportunity to have almost all of our Team Extreme pilots together in one place for this event and a great time was had by all. Extreme Flight was well represented on the 3D Flight Line! Team member Donatas Pauzuolis from Lithuania made the long trip over to join in the fun as did Daniel Holman from Washington State, Lee Morey from New Jersey, Jeff Williams from Indiana, RJ Gritter from North Carolina and Chris Jewett and Avery Poole from South Carolina. There were over 40 Extreme Flight aircraft on the 3D Flight Line and there was rarely a moment when one of our aircraft wasn't being put through its paces. Daniel Holman logged over 150 flights for the week! SEFF is held each year at Mac Hodges field in Andersonville, GA and is another "can't miss" event. Next up is the almighty Joe Nall fly-in in Woodruff, S.C. If you are planning to attend please stop by our tent on the 3D Flight Line and say hello.

Team Extreme member Avery Poole readies his Extreme Flight 48 inch MXS-EXP for another impressive flight.

Team Extreme member Blair Rittenhouse and our good friend and business partner Nelson Fong pose for the camera. Nelson manufactures our Torque motors and Airboss ESCs and traveled all the way from China to attend SEFF this year.

Team Extreme member Daniel Holman prepares his new Extreme Flight 60 inch Edge for another amazing flight. Daniel logged over 150 flights during the course of the event! This is one young man to keep an eye on!

Chris Hinson, Curtis Cozier and R.J. Gritter finish assembling the "Extreme Fleet" and prepare for another great day of flying.

Team Extreme members anxiously await their turn to wow the enormous crowds during the noontime demos.

The big news to report is the release of our new 60 inch electric Edge 540T EXP! Due at our shop next week, this aircraft has everyone really excited. Simply put, it is one of the most stable 3D airframes we've released to date. Built around our Torque 4016/500 brushless outrunner and Airboss Elite 80 Amp ESC, the Edge is a 3D monster. Please follow thislink for more information including video of the aircraft in action and an interview describing many of the details about the Edge. We have opened pre-orders for the Edge and are also offering a combo with the motor and ESC at quite a savings. Whether you are an advanced 3D pilot or just getting started, the 60 inch Edge 540T EXP deserves a place in your hangar.

We are also getting re-stocked on this container with just about every aircraft currently in production, including the hugely popular 48 inch EXP series. The EXP series, which currently consists of the Extra 300, Edge 540T and MXS has taken the modeling community by storm! With their unique feature set and stunning flight envelope, these aircraft offer incredible "bang for the buck" and are among the most capable airframes in this size. If you are looking for an inexpensive, easy to transport, easy to assemble aircraft with unlimited performance, please have a look at our EXP series. Pick the one you like the looks of most as they are all equally capable. We've got a feeling that once you try one of them and experience its amazing flight characteristics you'll be back for another!

I sincerely hope each of you has a wonderful flying season in 2011. Stay tuned for more new releases in the coming months from Extreme Flight RC!

See you at the flying field!

Spring/Summer 2009 News Update

The past few months have been quite busy for the Extreme Flight crew!  Between the Southeastern Model Show in Perry, GA, The Weak Signals Expo in Toledo, OH, SEFF in Americus, GA and the Joe Nall in Woodruff, SC we have covered a lot of ground!  It's been great getting to see old friends and meeting lots of new ones.  Still several shows to attend during the 2009 season including the XFC, Chattanooga 3D Jam, Toys for Tots Fly-in and of course the Hotlanta Hucktoberfest.  I'm sure there will be a few more last minute additions as well as a trip to China in there somewhere.

Lots of exciting news to report!  We are expecting a new container to arrive in the next week which will contain the highly anticipated Russian Thunder Yak-54 in both the 50cc and 100cc sizes.  In case you haven't heard, Jim Bourke, owner of Knife Edge Software, RC Groups, Flying Giants, and Crack Roll owns the only full scale Yak-54 still flying in the U.S.. The legendary Russian Thunder Yak-54 was made famous on the airshow circuit by the late Eric Beard, and Mr. Bourke has licensed us to produce our Yak-54 with this color scheme.  This iconic aircraft features a beautiful high visibility color scheme that is sure to turn heads at the flying field.  There is a very limited number of these on this container so if you are interested please contact us ASAP to reserve one.

Extreme Fight Yak-54 Russian Thunder

Also on board is the new 48 inch Extra 300EXP.  This aircraft is by far my favorite small electric that we've produced thus far.  Please check out all the details on the product page here.  This is one bad machine that is sure to "fly" right out of our warehouse, so be sure to place your order today!

The new 50cc Edge 540T that we unveiled at Toledo is currently in production and we expect to receive our first shipment later this summer.  Look for updates as we get closer to the release of this new powerhouse aerobatic machine.

Extreme Flight 88" Edge 540t

I have requested one more prototype of the 78 inch Extra from our factory to be sure that the last few modifications were correctly implemented.  We should receive this sample by the end of May and will get it in the air immediately.  I expect to receive the first shipment early fall.  This aircraft will be offered in a dedicated electric version as well as a gas/glow version.

Extreme Flight 78" Extra

As seen at the Joe Nall, the 123" Extra 300 has been finalized and is ready for production.  Cowl and canopy molds are being machined and wood is being cut.  I am returning to China right after my anniversary on June 7th to oversee the beginning of production.  I know it has been a long time coming, and for that I apologize, but I am glad we took the time to make the changes incorporated into this most recent version.  The improvement in flight performance is substantial and I feel confident that the 123" Extra will become a dominant force in the upper levels of IMAC and invitational competitions.

Several more releases are in the works and I'll talk more about these in the next news update.

I sincerely hope that all of you are having a great flying season and I look forward to talking airplanes with you at an upcoming show.  Please stop by our tent and rap with us for a while, we'd love to hear your feedback and get your input.

See ya at the flying field!

Extreme Flight R/C announces Competition Rewards Program

Extreme Flight RC owner Chris Hinson announced Monday April 20, 2009 the beginning of the new Competition Rewards program. As an incentive to get more pilots involved in IMAC and Freestyle competition flying, the Competition Rewards program will benefit pilots who make the effort to compete with their Extreme Flight RC aircraft.

For placing in one of the top three positions in his or her chosen class, the pilot will be rewarded with a $100 credit for first place, $75 credit for second place and $50 credit for third place toward the purchase of their next Extreme Flight airframe.
Proof of placement must be provided by the pilot along with a photo of the pilot with his Extreme Flight airframe and trophy.
Pilots placing in the top position in 3 or more contests in a single season may be eligible to join Team Extreme and receive a sponsorship from Extreme Flight RC.

aaaaaRegarding this new program, Chris Hinson said "Competition flying demands a lot of time and effort from the pilot including proper set-up and dialing in of the aircraft, countless hours of practice, travel to and from the events, time away from family and a lot of dedication. I wanted to do something to reward pilots who are willing to put forth the effort required to be successful in competition flying. It is my hope that this new program will offer some incentive to get more pilots involved in the competition scene. So download those sequences, buy a 5 gallon fuel jug and proceed to burn some fuel! Best of luck to you all and we'll look to see you on the podium!"
